Overview of Conference 2026
Conference 2026 will be an illuminating, impressive and a welcomed engaging experience that will promote the shift in mindset to match the demanding trends impacting the world, anchored by the Conference’s prevailing theme, “Capital Markets Fueling Economic Resurgence and Resilience”.
The Jamaica Pegasus Hotel continues to be the most favoured venue of choice in the Conference’s 21-year history. However, the areas of notable interest to be examined and strategized will spur interest and excitement among the attendees. The pertinence of the topics being desired, vibrant and relevant, will evoke that sense of freshness, difference and brilliance to inspire and recharge them to their satisfaction to face the known and unknown conditions, challenges and competitors, to remain among the best and be the best in their sectors, businesses and professions.

Raising the Bar of the Venture Capital Pitch Room
The JSE wants the Pitch Room to generate companies to list both on the Junior Market and soon to be established Micro Market. Through the Conference, the live competition will shift from being presented as the closing event on Day 2 (Wednesday) and to take place on Day 3 (Thursday) in the segment just before the Lunch Hour. The reason being that the majority of attendees are normally present at lunch. This will give the companies vying for recognition maximum exposure to attract serious investors who can take their Companies’ vision to the next level.
High Quality Companies: To ensure top quality contestants and pitch, advertisements for applicants will start as early as August 2025 and have the selection of companies by October 2025, upon which intensive training for the companies will begin.
High Level Judges: The JSE is looking to have a high-level panel of judges to ensure that the right questions are asked and the best company chosen. Training would also be extended to the judges. IDB will be consulted to assist in these efforts. Key change to also involve an international judge who can be part of the panel of judges and/or help to train the panel of judges.
Strengthening CARICOM’s Visibility and Role
Stock Market Integration: In view of what is happening in North America and its ‘allies’, it’s an opportune time for CARICOM to further the interest of the Caribbean, particularly, strengthening the bands of economic integration and food security for the Region. There will be a focus on CARICOM in the area of stock markets integration as a means of allowing businesses across the region to have greater access to capital and for Caribbean citizens to create generational wealth.
Natural Resources Beneficial Extraction: Secondly, CARICOM’s can be the avenue for discussion, collaboration and agreement on how the Region can benefit more from its natural resources such as oil, gas, and bauxite or its natural environment for tourism.
Partnerships of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States
The Conference will look at how more partnerships can be developed across the Caribbean. It is also seen as a good time to ensure that partnerships of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) relationships are cemented. Therefore, on the agenda will be South-South Cooperation (SSC) on matters of exchange of resources, technology, and knowledge, to address shared development challenges to achieve mutual benefits.
The JSE would be reaching out to these ACP countries, especially those that do not have a stock market for them to attend the Conference and to see how the JSE could work with them to establish their stock market. Those countries that have stock markets, to sign memorandum of understandings (MOUs) to collaborate to grow and develop their stock markets.
These initiatives will also widen the diversity and pool of persons and dignitaries attending the Conference and boost networking and business collaboration. The data for the ACP countries reveals a huge market which the Caribbean can benefit from. There are approximately 54 countries in the ACP plus 15 in the Caribbean, with a population of 1/3 billion people in this region and an annual GDP of just under US$3 Trillion.

Some of the strategic areas to be analyzed and discussed this year at Conference 2026 are:
Key Topics
There are five areas of global, regional and national that must be dealt with at the 2026 Conference: technology, Government Debt, Populist Movements, Conflicts and Climate Change and the impact on people and the flow of capital.
Technology: Technology and its effect on changing the economies and the workplace.
Government Debt: How this affects the country in terms of development, achieving and sustaining Jamaica’s Vision 2030.
Populist Movements: Its impacts on countries’ politics, masses and development. This is where JSSE has been positive and influential. It changes people’s mindset to be less insular in their focus and takes pleasure in giving back to building community, helping others and in doing so also help to make the hopes and dreams for a secure future, finically and socially.
Conflict: The world is pivoting in an era of conflicts, geopolitical and domestic, which is even threatening to break out in the Caribbean – Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the Republic of Venezuela, as well as the internal conflicts in Haiti. Here discussions will centre on prevention, mediation and the role of finance.
Climate: As small island states, the Caribbean has been affected dramatically by extreme climate conditions. How we continue to highlight these issues, solve these challenges, overcome the hurdles of cost to business and country. The Conference will look at partnering with green stock exchanges and also with EU and UNDP.
Conference 2026 will be new and different as Jamaica, the region as well as international partners respond to the shift in world priorities, existing and new trends impacting businesses and people globally.
