Hon. Philip J. Pierre

Prime Minister & Minister of Finance

Economic Development & The Youth Economy

From an early age, his mother, a devoted, loving school teacher, and father, a hardworking, honest policeman, taught him the importance of giving his best in every undertaking while serving others with humility and honesty. These values impressed upon him later became the foundation of his professional and political career.

During his formative years, Philip attended the St Aloysius R. C. Boys Primary School and the Mary’s College, both of which he remains very proud of. He later enrolled into The University of the West Indies where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Business Administration. However, when many of his colleagues relocated to developed nations upon completion of their studies or sought secure, government employment, Philip felt a profound calling to contribute to the advancement of his community and country at large.

After establishing Philip J. Pierre Business Services as a Management Consultant, in 1992, Philip answered the call to serve his constituency by seeking to improve the lives of the residents of Castries East where he was born, raised and he continues to live to this very day.

Although Philip was unsuccessful initially, his resolve to positively impact the people of Castries East was not abated but rather amplified. He remained steadfast in his determination to make a difference in the lives of others and continued to work the ground. In the historic 1997 General Election, he was convincingly elected in Castries East, topping the polls. From this memorable day, Philip’s primary mission has been to enhance the standard of living for all residents.
